BELMONT -- A 64-year-old Berkeley man was struck and injured by an SUV while crossing Davey Glen Road on Monday evening, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle around 6:20 p.m. on Davey Glen Road, west of El Camino Real, according to Belmont police. When officers arrived, they found the Berkeley man down on the ground in the roadway. The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but police said it appeared the man was crossing the Davey Glen Road and was not in the crosswalk when he was hit by a 2007 Jeep SUV driven by a 24 year-old San Carlos woman, who was turning onto Davey Glen from the adjacent shopping center.
