OAKLAND -- A man was shot multiple times Friday afternoon in East Oakland and police were searching for the shooter.

The man was expected to survive his injuries.

The shooting happened about 3:25 p.m. in the 200 block of Cairo Road, police said.

The man apparently was shot by someone in an SUV that continued driving after the shooting. The vehicle was described as a white Chevrolet Blazer and was last seen going southbound on Empire Road.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known and no arrest has been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the gunman.
