SAN JOSE -- A man was killed when his car plowed into a tree on Camden Avenue on Wednesday night, police said.
Fire crews and police responded to the 6400 block of Camden Ave. around 9:05 p.m., according to police, for a solo-vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they found the car had hit a tree and the driver was thrown from the car.
He was declared dead at the scene. There were no other passengers in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, police added.
As of Thursday, the man's identity was not released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner, which was still trying to notify the victim's relatives.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police said speed contributed to the crash, but it was unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
