MOUNTAIN VIEW -- A massive marijuana grow, worth more than $500,000, along with stolen guns and thousands of dollars were discovered Thursday thanks to an anonymous tip, police said.
Around 3 p.m., detectives served search warrants at a business on the 1100 block of Independence Avenue and at two homes in San Jose after an anonymous tipper hinted there was something amiss at the Mountain View business.
During their search of the building, detectives discovered what was described as an "extremely sophisticated grow house." More than 800 plants were found along with specialized indoor lighting and filtration systems, police said.
In San Jose, detectives served a search warrant at a home on the 3100 block of Kirk Avenue and found more than 30 pounds of dried and packed marijuana along with more than $10,000 in cash. A hash oil lab was also discovered at the home. Several firearms were also seized, including one stolen from a home in Mountain View back in 2010.
Police added that a toddler, who was in the temporary care of the residents, was at the home during the search and was taken into protective custody.
At a second home in San Jose, located on the 1200 block of Branham Lane, police found numerous illegal weapons, two of which were stolen, along with methamphetamine and two military-grade, stun grenades.
Police arrested San Jose residents Semir Metovic, 33, Tito Hernandez, 32, and Abby Rose, 29, on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, possession of stolen property, possession of firearms and felony child endangerment, among other charges.
