OAKLAND -- A woman was found shot to death Wednesday morning in East Oakland, and police were trying to identify her.
She was found at 4:41 a.m. on the sidewalk outside an apartment complex at the intersection of 100th Avenue and International Boulevard. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe she was shot where she was found but have not determined if it was by someone in a car or someone on foot, Sgt. Randy Brandwood said.
Brandwood said she was not known to residents in the area.
Investigators don't have a motive, and no arrests have been made. The killing was the city's 41st homicide of the year. Last year at this time, there were 45 homicides in Oakland.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to arrests in the case.
