HAYWARD -- A 28-year-old man died when his motorcycle slammed into a big-rig truck in south Hayward on Tuesday night, police said.

David Bronaugh of Fremont was killed in the crash along Industrial Parkway near the Interstate 880 off-ramp, according to police and the Alameda County Coroner's Office.

Just before 8:35 p.m. the big rig traveling south on I-880 exited the freeway and turned left onto Industrial Parkway East, Sgt. Eric Melendez said.

Moments later, Melendez said, a motorcycle traveling west on Industrial Parkway broadsided the truck.

The motorcycle rider, identified as Bronaugh, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the big-rig was not cited and police were investigating what caused the collision.

Bronaugh's autopsy was scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
