MORGAN HILL -- Police are searching for three Gilroy residents suspected of a drive-by shooting that left one man with multiple wounds.
Morgan Hill police on Tuesday identified Francisco Diaz, 22, Nicolas Young, 21, and Deja Marie Ayala, 22, as suspects in the drive-by shooting. All three are considered to be armed and dangerous, according to police.
Officers responded to Spring Avenue and Monterey Road at 11:14 p.m. Friday to investigate reports of shots fired. Police located a 25-year-old Gilroy man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and a 29-year-old Morgan Hill man who was not injured during the shooting. The victim remains in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive, according to police.
The investigation revealed the shooting followed an argument between two groups of people that took place behind a Chinese restaurant on Monterey Road. Police say the two victims attempted to walk away from the altercation, but Diaz and Young continued to taunt and yell at them.
As the victims walked westbound on Spring Avenue, Diaz and Young left in a four-door gray sedan, which was driven by a young woman, according to police.
The woman -- who police identified as Ayala -- drove the vehicle westbound on Spring and came to an abrupt stop, at which point multiple gun shots were seen and heard coming from inside the sedan, according to police.
The sedan took off and was last seen in the area of Spring and Del Monte avenues.
