OAKLAND -- The popular Montclair Village Beer and Wine Celebration will return this year on Saturday with the 39th annual Montclair Fine Arts Sidewalk Festival, which will be held this weekend, beginning Friday and running through Sunday.
The celebration will be a featured addition to the three-day fine arts festival for the second year in a row.
The event is the grandchild of the Montclair Jazz and Wine festival, which was last held in 2009, and is a smaller version of the previous festival which was held throughout the entire village, said Daniel Swafford, the executive director of the Montclair Village Association and the organizer of the event.
The beer and wine event will be held on Mountain Boulevard between Medau Place and La Salle Avenue, and will feature live music from local talent to accompany a choice of libations provided by some 20 craft beer breweries and artisanal winemakers.
More than 80 artists from the West Coast will be show their work throughout the entire village. The two events combine art, drink and music, with plenty of activities for children.
The proceeds of the event will stay in Montclair and will go toward new public art projects, greenery, summer movie nights, and all good things Montclair," Swafford said. "You can raise a glass for a good cause."
Village vendors include Crogans Restaurant and Bar, Crown Wines and Spirits, Farmstead Cheeses and Wines, Grille One Carvery and Italian Colors.
