MORGAN HILL -- A Gilroy woman wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured one person walked into the police department Tuesday night and turned herself in.
Deja Marie Ayala, 22, was booked into the Santa Clara County main jail on suspicion of attempted murder and committing a felony while out on bail, according to Morgan Hill police.
Police say they are actively searching for Francisco Diaz, 22 and Nicolas Young, 21, who are also suspects in the drive-by shooting which followed an argument on June 20.
A 25-year-old Gilroy man was shot multiple times but is expected to survive, according to police.
Police say the shooting followed an argument between two groups of people that took place behind a Chinese restaurant on Monterey Road. Police say the Gilroy man and another person attempted to walk away from the altercation, but Diaz and Young continued to taunt and yell at them.
As the two walked westbound on Spring Avenue, Diaz and Young left in a four-door gray sedan, which was driven by a young woman, according to police.
The woman -- who police identified as Ayala -- drove the vehicle westbound on Spring and came to an abrupt stop, at which point multiple gun shots were seen and heard coming from inside the sedan, according to police.
The sedan took off and was last seen in the area of Spring and Del Monte avenues.
