CAMPBELL - A judge ordered a Campbell chiropractor on Wednesday to stand trial on a charge he sexually assaulted a patient last year, prosecutors said.
Manfred Alkhas, 47, is charged with felony sexual battery and faces up to four years in prison if convicted, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said Alkhas, the owner and operator of Good Life Chiropractic, touched intimate parts of a 21-year-old female patient during treatment in July of 2013.
Alkhas was later arrested and released on $150,000 bail.
Prosecutors said he has been allowed to continue practicing chiropractics with restrictions.
During the preliminary hearing, a Campbell police officer testified another woman said Alkhas assaulted her in the mid-1980s, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said the victim in that incident came forward after Alkhas' arrest, but no charges will be filed in that case, because the statute of limitations has passed.
Anyone with information about Alkhas is asked to call Campbell police Det. Mark Cutler at (408) 866-2179.
