BERKELEY -- A San Lorenzo man with more than a dozen convictions for drunken driving has been arrested on suspicion of that offense once again, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers collared Blancy Costello on suspicion of felony DUI around 7 p.m. on June 29 after citizens called 911 and told police somebody appeared to be driving drunk.

Costello allegedly collided with another vehicle on westbound Interstate 80 near University Avenue, according to the CHP's Oakland Facebook page.

The driver of the other was uninjured, police said.

Costello also was arrested in similar circumstances on April 24 in Oakland, police said. On that day, callers reported seeing Costello driving drunk on westbound I-580 near Fruitvale Avenue. Costello is accused of colliding with four vehicles in three separate collisions that day and faces a charge of felony DUI in connection with that incident, police said.

The CHP said on its Facebook page that Costello has been convicted of DUI more than a dozen times, and that he has felony DUIs on his record related to having so many.
