MENLO PARK -- Three people in a stolen vehicle were arrested Tuesday night after leading police on a pursuit that began in San Jose and ended in Menlo Park.

The pursuit started when a Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputy spotted an occupied stolen Honda Accord near Coe and Lincoln avenues in San Jose, according to Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup. The Honda was driven by a female and had two passengers.

The driver led sheriff's deputies on a pursuit from southbound Interstate 280 to northbound Highway 101, Stenderup said. Deputies continued the chase until they relinquished the pursuit to the California Highway Patrol around Montague Expressway in Sunnyvale, Stenderup said.

The Honda exited the freeway at Willow Road and then attempted to get back on southbound 101, according to CHP Officer Ross Lee. While attempting to get back on the Highway the driver of the Honda lost control and collided with another vehicle and a guardrail.

The CHP arrested the driver and a male and female passenger. The names, ages and booking charges of the driver and both passengers was not immediately available.
