Steve Rossi has been named president of Digital First Media, the parent company of this newspaper, adding to his current role as the newspaper organization's chief operating officer.

Rossi was named Digital First Media's COO in January. He had been an executive vice president for the previous two years.

He has also served as executive vice president and COO of MediaNews Group and held various executive posts with Knight Ridder and the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School.

He will continue to work in San Jose.

Digital First Media, based in New York, has a combined $1.3 billion in annual revenue with more than 800 print and digital products and a monthly audience of more than 67 million people. It operates 75 daily newspapers.
