Because grown women bickering at one another makes America the great country that it is, know that "The View" alumni are still taking shots at each other.

Rosie O'Donnell and Joy Behar went after Elisabeth Hasselbeck late Wednesday, after Hasselbeck called into her "Fox & Friends" show while on vacation to complain about her old show reportedly rehiring O'Donnell.

ABC confirmed O'Donnell's rehiring on Thursday.

"I think this has been in the works for a long time," said the conservative, who was shown the door at "The View" last year and whose on-air spat with O'Donnell led to the comic's departure in 2007. She said Wednesday she is "very interested" to see how O'Donnell will get along with co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

"I know Rosie very well. We worked quite closely. Talk about not securing the border!" Hasselbeck said. "Here in comes to "The View" the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control ready to regain a seat at 'The View' table."

Wednesday night, former "The View" co-host Joy Behar went on with CNN's Don Lemon and criticized Hasselbeck's commentary.

"I thought that was really kind of below-the-belt, to say (O'Donnell) spits in the face of the military," Behar said. "I would like Elisabeth to explain herself," adding that O'Donnell's oldest son is in military school. "What does she mean by that? And isn't it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person? That's a dangerous thing to say about somebody. I think it's a hate-filled remark."

O'Donnell took to Twitter to defend herself. She responded to a tweet from a supporter about Hasselbeck inferring that O'Donnell used Barbara Walters' farewell special to get back on the show by writing "excellent comment -- (Hasselbeck) was hiding in her dressing room -- til i walked right in and said hello -- her reply LETS TAKE A SELFIE!!!"

I knew selfies were going to be part of this story somehow.

To another supporter who complained about Hasselbeck's remarks about the military, O'Donnell wrote "think she has donated any money to the armed services ???? Hmmmmm"

Rest assured we'll bring you any and all exciting news about this dynamic situation as developments arise.
