SAN JOSE -- A San Francisco man was arrested after investigators found about 175 pounds of marijuana in a home, police said.
Officers searched a home in the 5400 block of Demerest Lane around 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Jose police, after they obtained a search warrant for the home because investigators linked it to drug activity.
When investigators entered the home, they found 145 marijuana plants, which equates to about 175 pounds and has a street value of roughly $50,000. Police said 36-year-old San Francisco resident Phui Loc was inside the home, but it was unclear if he lived there. Investigators also learned that Loc had also possibly been stealing electricity to grow the pot.
He was arrested on suspicion of utility theft and cultivation of marijuana and booked at Santa Clara County Jail.
