BASEBALL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY
WHEN: July 27, 10:30 a.m. PDT
WHO: Baseball Writers' Association of America electees Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and Frank Thomas will join Expansion Era Committee electees Bobby Cox, Tony La Russa and Joe Torre as the class of 2014.
TV: MLB Network and Sirius XM Radio will carry the induction ceremony live. It also will be streamed live at www.baseballhall.org.
CAP CHOICES: Cox and Glavine will be represented on their plaques as Atlanta Braves, Thomas as a member of the White Sox and Torre as a Yankee. La Russa and Maddux, who had distinguished tenures with multiple teams, will go in without a logo on their caps.
FUN FACTS: Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine became the first pair of 300-game winners elected in the same year since Warren Spahn (363 wins) and Mickey Welch (307 wins) in 1973 ... Cox led the Braves to 15 consecutive seasons in which they finished in a playoff position ... La Russa and Connie Mack are the only big-league managers to manage 5,000+ games. ... Torre also earned nine All-Star game selections as a player and won the 1971 NL MVP Award ... This marks the first time since 1971 that six living electees will be inducted as a single class ... Fifty-six of the 66 living Hall of Famers plan on attending the induction ceremony.

J.G. Taylor Spink Award: Roger Angell of the New Yorker will receive the award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing. He was nominated by the Bay Area Chapter of the BBWAA.
Ford C. Frick Award: Eric Nadel, the Texas Rangers' play-by-play man, will be honored for excellence in broadcasting.
Buck O'Neil Lifetime Achievement Award: To former catcher and broadcaster Joe Garagiola, who spent eight decades as ambassador for the national pastime.
