A 49-year-old man arrested for public intoxication resisted officers as he was being taken into custody, then while he was in the back seat of a patrol car he kicked out a window, according to police.

The man faces charges of vandalism and resisting police following his arrest, which occurred about 4:30 p.m. July 16 in the 1200 block of Park Street.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16

  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA -- A 54-year-old cyclist who fled from officers during a traffic stop was carrying narcotics and drug paraphernalia, police said. Officers arrested the man, who was booked on suspicion of violating his probation and other charges, at 1:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of High Street. The man was allegedly also in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Another man, 45, was found carrying paraphernalia about 9:50 a.m. in the 2500 block of Blanding Avenue, where officers initially contacted him as a suspicious person as he walked through the neighborhood.

    THURSDAY, JULY 17

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- A 57-year-old woman who officers contacted while investigating a traffic accident was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The arrest occurred about 12:10 a.m. in the 1500 block of Sherman Street.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle theft was reported about 6:55 a.m. in the 900 block of Shorepoint Court.

    FRIDAY, JULY 18

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle with a loaded firearm in the trunk was reported stolen about 7:05 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Loop Road. Police also said a trailer was reported stolen at 7:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 24, on suspicion of drunken driving about 9:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

    SATURDAY, JULY 19

  • RESISTING POLICE -- A 30-year-old man arrested about 2:20 a.m. on San Jose Avenue for public intoxication faces a charge of resisting police after he struggled with officers as he was being taken into custody, according to police. A woman, 49, who was arrested for public intoxication about 12:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of Webster Street was also in possession of methamphetamine, as well as a pipe for smoking the substance, police said.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving at 2:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Sixth Street, where he was involved in a traffic collision.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle theft was reported about 3:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

  • ASSAULT -- A 52-year-old man faces an assault charge after he allegedly punched and struck another individual during an altercation in the 300 block of Grand Street, where police arrested him about 4:20 p.m.

    SUNDAY, JULY 20

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 49, on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop about 12:10 a.m. in the 2300 block of San Antonio Avenue. Another man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of the same offense about two hours later at Park Street and Clement Avenue.

  • BURGLARY -- A residential burglary was reported about 6:35 p.m. in the 900 block of Eagle Avenue, police said.

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Officers investigating a disturbance in the 2000 block of Park Street arrested a 48-year-old man for public intoxication, then found him in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while searching him, police said. It happened about 10:30 p.m.

  • NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A WEAPON -- Someone with a BB gun fired a shot that struck a cyclist as he was riding at Portola Avenue and Westline Drive, police said. The incident was reported at 10:05 p.m. Less than 30 minutes later police received a report that someone with a pellet gun fired a shot at a vehicle in the 2000 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
