Mom booked on child endangerment, DUI
A 32-year-old Pacifica woman speeding in a sport utility vehicle with her 6-year-old daughter was booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment, drunken driving and other violations Sunday after trying to flee from a California Highway Patrol officer.
CHP spokesman Andrew Barclay said that at 5:27 p.m., an officer parked on the Marinwood Avenue off-ramp along southbound Highway 101 clocked Ana Soledad Lopez traveling at 85 mph and gave chase in a pursuit that hit 90 mph.
"The officer observed the driver ... making numerous erratic lane changes, cutting vehicles off and causing other vehicles to take evasive maneuvers" before catching up to Lopez and pulling her over, Barclay reported. As the officer approached, "Lopez put the vehicle in drive and sped out into traffic, almost hitting another vehicle," he said.
Lopez was booked into the Marin County Jail.
