CONCORD -- A woman who police say may have been sexually assaulted in Hillcrest park was in stable condition on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched at 6:45 a.m. to the 2000 block of Olivera Road after receiving a report of an unconscious woman who was bleeding, Sgt. Brandon J. Richey said.
Arriving officers located a woman, about 40 years old, who appeared to have been the victim of an assault and battery.
The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. As of about 2:30 p.m., she was in stable condition, Richey said.
It was not immediately known where the assault occurred.
Police did not have a suspect but the case remained under investigation on Saturday afternoon.
