RICHMOND -- Police investigating the shooting of a man and teenage boy at a Crescent Park apartment last week have identified a suspect and are asking the public to help find him.
A police photo of 18-year-old Dematriaus Rashawn Robinson was circulated by Richmond police on Tuesday morning. Police said Robinson is wanted on a $2 million arrest warrant on charges of attempted murder in the aftermath of the July 31 shooting in the 4900 block of Bayview Avenue.
Police believe Robinson knocked on a door at the apartment around 10:55 a.m. and opened fire when it opened. The gunfire hit a man in his 20s in the hip and the teenager in the stomach and leg, but they are both recovering and will be OK, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Another adult and two small children were inside the apartment at the time but not injured, Abetkov said. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
Police did not have a full description of Robinson. Anyone with information about him is urged to call Detective Jason Wentz at 510-621-1259. Anonymous tips can be left at 510-232-8477.
A 16-year-old boy died in a separate shooting at Crescent Park in April. Melinda Leketia Gaffney has been charged with murder with an enhancement in that shooting on April 8, which killed Terrance Folks.
