Earthquakes offensive catalyst Yannick Djalo has been ruled out of Friday's showdown against the host Los Angeles Galaxy with a strained right quadriceps.

The speedy Djalo, who has worked well in combination with Chris Wondolowski, scored once in the Quakes' past two MLS games, wins over the Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire.

Club officials say the oft-injured Djalo, on loan from Benfica-Portugal, could be out anywhere from one to four weeks.

"He feels he's improve a lot in the past couple days," Quakes coach Mark Watson said of Djalo. "We're still working off that time frame, kind of monitoring it day to day."

Watson is confident newcomer Matias Perez Garcia of Argentina, who could be Djalo's replacement, will have his transfer paperwork completed in time to make his debut against the Galaxy. The 5-foot-5 Perez Garcia, the club's third-ever Designated Player signing, came from CA Tigre of Argentina's Primera Division.
