SUNNYVALE -- A man shot and killed in Sunnyvale's first homicide of the year was identified by police Wednesday.
Sunnyvale resident Ernesto Castro-Sanchez, 20, was shot and killed in what may have been a gang-related shooting around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Encinal Park, according to police.
According to police, when officers responded to the park for reports of the shooting, they found Castro-Sanchez lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was also injured in the shooting but was expected to survive. She has not been identified.
Police have not released suspect information as they continue to investigate the incident.
