HAYWARD -- Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Subway employee at gunpoint Monday and made off with a couple hundred dollars.

No one was injured in the afternoon sandwich-shop stickup, police said.

A store employee told police that about 2:45 p.m. a man armed with a black handgun walked into the store on the 26000 block of Mission Boulevard and demanded money, Sgt. Mark Ormsby said.

The employee said he gave the man $200 in cash and the man ran out of the store, got into a white car and then drove off.

Police described the suspect as a white man, in his mid 20s, 6 feet tall and heavyset, wearing a black and gray San Francisco Giants hat. He also wore a red bandanna, a black hooded sweatshirt, tan shorts and tan work boots.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 510-293-7034 or 510-293-7000.
