SANTA CLARA -- A 31-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his Mazda and crashed into a light pole in Santa Clara, police said.
Officers responded to Central Expressway at Commercial Street about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Lt. Kurt Clarke of the Santa Clara Police Department. Clarke said the Santa Clara resident was driving eastbound on the Central Expressway when he lost control of his car near Commercial Street.
The 1999 Mazda crashed into a light pole and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Clarke added. His name has not been released pending notification of his family.
