LOS GATOS -- A 20-year-old Santa Clara man died early Monday morning in a suspected drunk driving collision just south of Los Gatos, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Alma Bridge Road, off Highway 17 near Lexington Reservoir, according to CHP Officer Ross Lee.
A white GMC Sonoma was traveling south on Alma Bridge Road, north of Aldecroft Heights, when the driver lost control and went off the roadway, Lee said. As the SUV went down an embankment, the 20-year-old passenger was ejected through the open passenger side window, Lee said. The passenger, whose name has not yet been released, died at the scene.
The driver, 20-year-old Forest Lambert of Santa Clara, was taken to the hospital and arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, Lee said.
