BENICIA -- Three people were killed after an Acura overturned and landed in a ditch Tuesday on northbound Highway 680 in Benicia, officials said.

The accident, reported at 3:40 p.m., shut down the Lake Herman Road exit as California Highway Patrol investigators combed the scene for clues about what may have caused the deadly crash. A separate two-vehicle non-injury crash was also reported nearby, but CHP officials said the two were not related.

The Lake Herman Road exit ramp was reopened by 6:30 p.m., CHP officials said.
