OAKLAND -- A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg Thursday night in East Oakland after refusing to give a robber his money, police said Friday.
The victim was able to get his own transportation to a hospital, where he was in stable condition.
The confrontation happened about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of 27th Avenue not far from the Fruitvale district.
The man was walking when he was confronted by a robber who demanded his money.
When the man refused he was shot by the robber who fled on foot.
The victim could only provide a vague description of the robber.
