A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck this morning near Gilroy, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The small quake struck at 9:10 a.m. Its epicenter was about 6 miles east-southeast of Gilroy and 9 miles northwest of Hollister. The quake was centered 3.4 miles below the ground, according to the USGS.
The quake was located near the Calaveras Fault.
Gilroy Police reported feeling the quake's quick jolt, but received no reports of damages or injuries, nor any calls for help.
