Outside the Afghan region, the Defense Department reports 64 more members of the U.S. military died in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Of those, two were the result of hostile action. The military lists these other locations as Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba; Djibouti; Eritrea; Ethiopia; Jordan; Kenya; Kyrgyzstan; Philippines; Seychelles; Sudan; Tajikistan; Turkey; and Yemen.
There were also four CIA officer deaths and one military civilian death.

Two soldiers died Wednesday in the Sabari District, Afghanistan, when their vehicle struck an explosive. Killed were:
— Army Spc. Jeremy R. Gullett, 22, Greenup, Ky.; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
— Army Staff Sgt. Kevin C. Roberts, 25, Farmington, N.M.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade
