PLEASANTON -- Join the Pleasanton Library on Nov. 10 to learn to sit, stay and read with your dog.
The 10th anniversary of "Paws to Read" will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a variety of teaching tactics to help you improve your dog's obedience or to help you learn how to train your dog.
Starting at 9:30 a.m., a pooch parade will march from Veterans Plaza Park at 550 Peters Avenue to the library.
The "Paws to Read" teams will then meet participants in front of the library before homeschooling training for pets and their human pals starts at 10:30 a.m.
Activities and booths will be set up at the library for people and pets to peruse throughout the day, and areas for families and their furry friends to sit down and read will also be made available.
To get more details on the schedule, or if you have questions, call the Children's Desk at the library at 925-931-3400 ext. 8.
The Paws to Read library program matches local dogs with students who read to them to build their reading confidence.
