Jennifer Lopez says she's happy for Ben Affleck.

She should be. After all, she helped launch his string of well-done hit films when they made "Gigli."

Lopez was seen smiling and giving her former fiance a standing ovation Sunday at the Golden Globes, when he won best director for "Argo." The 43-year-old singer talked about Affleck with Ellen DeGeneres, which airs Wednesday.

"(Argo) was a great movie," Lopez said. "And, we got you know, a lot of like ... They were really hard on us in the press when we dated back in the day. On movies and things like that. So it was a nice moment. It was nice to see him have that moment. I was really happy for him."

Well, to be fair, "Gigli" was really hard on a lot of people's brains.

The pair dated from 2002 to 2004, during which time they made the terrible "Gigli," he appeared in her "Jenny From the Block" video, and they were pretty much hounded by the press for two years.

I hate the press.

Affleck has called that period the lowest point of his life, telling Details magazine in October, "(It) was definitely the annus horribilis. I got shorthanded as That Guy -- Jennifer Lopez, movies bombed, therefore he must be a sort of thoughtless dilettante, solipsistic consumer, blah blah blah."

Poor Ben.
