It has all come down to this: A battle between the Huxtables and the Crawleys.
Yes, the championship final of our first-ever TV Couples Tournament has finally arrived and it features an intriguing matchup between the iconic sitcom team of Clair and Cliff ("The Cosby Show") against red-hot Brits Mary and Matthew ("Downton Abbey").
Both dynamic duos are already champions in their own right. Clair and Cliff captured the title in the yesteryear side of our tourney bracket by trouncing Maddie and David of "Moonlighting" fame. The Huxtables did so by capturing 77 percent of the votes cast.
Meanwhile, Mary and Matthew barely survived their showdown with Marge and Homer Simpson to win the present-day side of the bracket -- a somewhat perplexing distinction since the characters dwell in an era well before the Huxtables or Simpsons.
Anyway, Mary and Matthew have become the cardiac kids of our tournament, having won three of their four matchups by excruciatingly slim margins. Against the Simpsons, they posted their second one-vote victory of the tournament.
That would seem to make the Huxtables heavy favorites going into the final, but it's probably unwise to count out the Crawleys, who seem to bring out the passion in "Downton" fans.
Either way, it's up for you to decide. To participate, simply use the link at the bottom of this story and vote for your favorite prime-time lovebirds. The polls close at 2 p.m. Friday, after which we will crown TV's greatest couple.
