ANTIOCH -- An 82-year-old woman walking to church Sunday morning was injured when she fell after a man grabbed her purse, according to Antioch police.

Police received a call at 7:49 a.m. that a man had forcibly grabbed the woman's purse off her shoulder as she walked near St. Ignatius Church in the 3300 block of Contra Loma Boulevard, according to authorities.

The woman was treated and released from a hospital with a minor head injury, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man, 30-40 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, thin, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, according to police. He jumped into a nearby small, light gray vehicle, possibly a two-door, which was driven by another individual, and was last seen eastbound on Longview Road.
