EL SOBRANTE -- Quarterback Azel Grasty opened up the passing game for the Fremont High football team, hitting five receivers for 250 yards and three touchdowns as he led the Tigers (2-3) to a 26-0 nonleague victory over host De Anza.

Tigers wide receiver Tyshone Gaines had two catches, both for touchdowns and a total of 57 yards.

The Dons (1-4) struggled on offense, gaining only 44 yards from scrimmage. Quarterback Chris Alfred fumbled the snap four times but recovered each one.

The Tigers defense dominated, forcing three turnovers in the second half, including Eric Smith's 50-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Linebacker Fehoko Faotusia led the defense with nine tackles and two sacks.

Grasty threw for three touchdowns and 225 yards in the first half.

De Anza's offense produced only 17 yards in the first half as Fremont took a 20-0 lead. The Tigers added another touchdown in the third quarter.

De Anza starts TCAL-Stone Division play Friday with a home game against Kennedy-Richmond.
