OAKLAND -- A fire in a four-unit apartment complex displaced three people, a Chihuahua and an iguana Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.

None of the residents or animals were injured.

The fire in the 1500 block of Fruitvale Avenue broke out about 12:40 p.m. and was controlled at 1:20 p.m., a fire officials said.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but his condition was not immediately available, a fire official said.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene for assistance.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The fire remains under investigation.
