OAKLAND - A crash involving a big-rig and a UPS truck on northbound I-880 south of the Broadway off-ramp just after 7 a.m. this morning has been cleared, but the California Highway Patrol reports traffic on the freeway is clogged and alternate routes are advised.

The accident occurred after the UPS truck hit an object in the roadway and pulled over. A big-rig rear-ended the UPS vehicle, then another big rig hit the pileup blocking the lane.

The truck driver was treated for chest injuries, the CHP said.
