Performing will be Wente winemaker and guitarist Karl Wente and his band of local rock/blues and classical musicians, including retired concert pianist Ray Arthur Wang.
Wang describes the film as a human rights documentary with a universal message calling for global change. It compares two successful women and friends, one African and one Caucasian: Betty Makoni, a globally renowned activist and founder of the Girl Child Network (GCN) located in Zimbabwe, Africa, and Michealene Cristini Risley, an award-winning author and filmmaker from Woodside.
"Their stories manage to show that no matter what circumstances transpire in your life, they do not define who you are," Wang says. "Betty and Michealene are proof that anyone can create their own hope and empowerment and change not only their own lives but those around them."
Risley will be speaking at Saturday's event, which will be held indoors in the Estate Winery's Tesla Room. There will be food, wine tasting and prizes as well as discounts on wine purchases.
Other members of The Front Porch include: concert violinist Jim Hurley, singer Jonny Williams, singer Megan Bradford, ukelele player Bob Giddens, guitarist Art Najera,
