SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento food bank supplier has recalled cans of diced tomatoes given to San Joaquin Valley drought relief recipients.

The Garden Crest brand tomato cans were distributed in Fowler, San Joaquin, Mendota and Coalinga. The cans have small punctures under the paper label.

California Emergency Foodlink president John Healy says the tomatoes were canned in the Midwest and the damaged appears to have occurred during the canning process.

The tomato cans should be discarded.
