DANVILLE -- Those looking to travel the world competing against teams to win $1 million in the reality television show "The Amazing Race" can take their shot Saturday.
CBS 5 will host an open casting call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blackhawk Plaza inside the Prickly Pear Cantina, 3421 Blackhawk Plaza Circle.
The CBS show pits teams of two against each other on a trek around the world. Teams compete in a series of mental and physical challenges before learning their next location. Those who are the farthest behind are gradually eliminated, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.
Both teammates must be present to audition. Applicants are encouraged to creatively express why they should be considered.
According to the show's website, questions to answer include why the auditioning team would make a great team to win, what issues they need to work on and what team they relate to from the past season. Among the requirements, team members must be at least 21 years old when applying, must be American citizens living in the United States and be in excellent physical and mental health. Competitors must be willing to commit to about four weeks.
