A 30-year-old man was stabbed Saturday during an attack in a South San Francisco neighborhood that has been wracked by violence in recent years.
The man, whom this newspaper is not identifying, was set upon by four attackers around 2 p.m. on the 200 block of Eighth Lane, according to South San Francisco police. The victim suffered several stab wounds and was then rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the four young men who assaulted him escaped in an older, tan, four-door sedan.
In Dec. 2010 three men were shot to death in a gang-related shooting on Eighth Lane. No one has been charged in connection with that crime. The neighborhood near that street has also been the scene of several assaults and weapons-related arrests.
Anyone with information is asked to call the South San Francisco police at 650-877-9000.
