It's about time for more surfing coverage
Regarding "Too much surfing in paper" from Jack Davis, I think it's about time the Sentinel caught up with the "tide" of the surf culture in Santa Cruz. For years there was nothing about surfing in the paper. This is Surf City! FYI Mr. Davis, a lot of surfers are professionals -- lawyers, doctors, etc. -- and have probably read the paper and hit the surf before you're even out of bed!

Warriors, turn down the music
I agree with Philip Rosenblum. The DJ music in the Santa Cruz Warriors arena is way too loud. I wore earplugs through the whole game, and I work in the loud music business.
Basketball is exciting enough in itself. It doesn't need to be over-amped, especially if it raises the ire of neighbors.
The solution is easy: Turn It Down.

The scourge of Segway
Recently a Segway rental shop opened downtown. Our sidewalks and walking paths are now overrun by these dubious beasts. They are quite wide (wider than a bicycle) and now all walkers on West Cliff are subjected to large heavy machinery brushing past them or walkers are asked to step aside.
