Inky Ajanaku also had 12 kills for the Cardinal and hit a match-high .529 to go with six blocks and Carly Wopat finished with seven kills on 15 attempts with just one error.

Setter Karissa Cook racked up 23 assists while Madi Bugg added 14 assists and two digs.

  • Jon Fitch, who trains with San Jose's American Kickboxing Academy, will fight Erick Silva on the UFC 153 undercard Saturday in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Fitch (26-4-1) returns to the cage after having to pull out of a July fight because of a knee injury.

    The main bout features Anderson Silva against Stephan Bonnar in a light-heavyweight matchup.

  • Adam Hinshaw (1,000 freestyle) and Ben Hinshaw (200 free), both of Saratoga High, and Shayne Fleming (100 free) of Valley Christian High, won individual events to help the Cal men's swimming team defeat Pacific 141-107 in the Bears' opening dual meet.
