The Santa Clara men's soccer team picked up a 3-2 victory at San Diego in both teams' regular-season finale Sunday.

Despite the Broncos' second win over San Diego (11-8, 9-3), the Toreros claimed the 2012 West Coast Conference title and the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament. It was tied at 1-1 until Santa Clara's Alex Fitschen took a loose ball in the box with his back to the net and executed a spinning shot that slipped past USD keeper Drew Ilijevski in the 84th minute.

About 90 seconds later, Erik Hurtado, the WCC's top goal scorer, fired a shot into the top corner of the net to give SCU a two-goal lead. It was his 15th goal of the season.

Less than a minute later, Jake Hallgrimson scored to bring USD to within 3-2.
