Allen Crabbe broke out of his brief shooting slump with 23 points, Richard Solomon had a career-high 18 points and nine rebounds, and host Cal beat Prairie View A&M 85-53 on Saturday at Haas Pavilion.

Justin Cobbs added 14 points for Cal (8-3), which has won two straight after a three-game slide.

The Golden Bears trailed early then used runs of 14-0 and 11-0 to take control.

Solomon, who had a previous best of 14 points, led Cal's inside attack, while Crabbe went 8 for 11 from the floor to record his 19th career game with 20 points or more.

Jourdan DeMuynck had 11 points for Prairie View (5-7).

"We did a pretty good job defensively once we figured out what they were trying to do," Cal coach Mike Montgomery said.

James Madison 77, San Jose State 68: The Spartans (5-5) lost in the Vegas Holiday Hoops event as they played without leading scorer James Kinney, who was suspended Saturday for a violation of team rules that occurred before the trip.

San Diego State 80, USF 58: Chase Tapley made six 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 33 points to lead the No. 18 Aztecs (10-1) to their 10th straight win, beating the Dons (5-5) in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.

Cole Dickerson led USF with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Saint Mary's postponed: The Gaels' game at Northern Iowa was postponed until 11 a.m. Sunday after bad weather forced the cancellation of their Thursday flight to the Midwest.

Instead, the Gaels (8-2) took a private charter Saturday and will face the Panthers (6-5) in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Temple 83, Syracuse 79: The Owls (9-2) used the inside-outside combination of Khalif Wyatt (33 points) and Anthony Lee (21 points) to beat the No. 3 Orange in New York.

The Orange (10-1) finished 19 of 34 from the free-throw line and 2 of 12 on 3s as its 52-game regular-season nonconference winning streak was snapped.

Arizona 73, ETSU 53: Former Bishop O'Dowd star Brandon Ashley had 16 points, and the No. 4 Wildcats (10-0) scored the first 11 points of the game to breeze into the semifinals of the Diamond Head Classic.

Kansas 74, Ohio State 66: Ben McLemore, a redshirt freshman playing his first college road game, scored 22 points, and the No. 9 Jayhawks (10-1) beat the seventh-ranked Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.

Kansas State 67, Florida 61: Will Spradling had 16 points and five assists, including one that set up Shane Southwell's 3-pointer in the closing minutes, and the Wildcats (9-2) beat the No. 8 Gators (8-2) in Kansas City, Mo.

Missouri 82, Illinois 73: Laurence Bowers had 23 points and 10 rebounds, and former Oakland High star Jabari Brown had 18 points and seven rebounds in his first start for the No. 12 Tigers (10-1).

Brandon Paul had 23 points for the No. 10 Illini (12-1).

South Dakota State 70, New Mexico 65: Kendall Williams and Chad Adams didn't start for the No. 16 Lobos at home after they arrived late to the game. It cost the Lobos, who were upset by the Jackrabbits.

Williams scored 21 to lead the Lobos (12-1). Jordan Dykstra had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Jackrabbits (10-4).

Cal State Fullerton 60, San Jose State 59: Ta'Rea Cunnigan scored 18 points, but the Spartans (3-8) fell to the host Titans (3-8).
