Nick Johnson blocked a layup by Chase Tapley in the closing seconds as No. 3 Arizona rallied from an eight-point deficit in the second half and remained undefeated with a 68-67 win over No. 17 San Diego State on Tuesday in the title game of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.
Mark Lyons hit two free throws with 13 seconds left for the final points by Arizona (12-0), which is off to its best start in 25 years. Tapley led the Aztecs (11-2) with 19 points. He had a clear path down the left side of the lane until Johnson slid over and swatted the ball away, with the buzzer sounding during a battle for the loose ball.
Cole Dickerson had 19 points, and USF beat East Tennessee State 67-49 in the seventh-place game. The Dons (6-6) also got 15 points from Cody Doolin to snap a five-game losing streak.
Jarvis Jones had 17 points for the Buccaneers (2-10), who suffered their seventh straight loss.
ETSU held its last lead at 15-14 just past the midway point of the first half, but the Dons closed out the half on an 18-6 run to lead 32-21.
The winter/spring meet at Golden Gate Fields opens Wednesday with first post at 12:15 p.m. The meet runs through June 16.

Jail records show former Braves outfielder Andruw Jones has been arrested in suburban Atlanta on a battery charge.
Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a call for a domestic dispute between Jones and his wife in Duluth.
Jones signed a $3.5 million, one-year deal with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan's Pacific League earlier this month.
