Tom Gamble has left the 49ers' front office and returned to his NFL roots with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he began his career as a personnel evaluator in 1988.
Gamble, 49, who spent the past eight seasons with the 49ers, will be the Eagles' vice president of player personnel under general manager Howie Roseman. Two years ago, the 49ers promoted Gamble from director of pro personnel to director of player personnel under G.M. Trent Baalke.
