Elias Harris scored 17 points and No. 3 Gonzaga crushed visiting Santa Clara 85-42 on Wednesday night, the ninth win in a row for the Zags.
Kelly Olynyk added 15 points for Gonzaga (26-2, 13-0 West Coast), which is riding its best ranking in the poll ever.
Brandon Clark led Santa Clara (19-9, 7-6) with 14 points. Leading scorer Kevin Foster was saddled with three fouls in the first half and finished with just four points, 14 below his average.
"It was a rough performance all around," Santa Clara coach Kerry Keating said. "You make it hard on yourself when you're not competing defensively."
"This is always a tough place to play," Keating added.
Gonzaga needs one more victory to claim at least a share of the WCC regular season title it lost last season. The Broncos are battling to finish in the top four to earn a bye into the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament next month.
Santa Clara averages 75 points per game and had not scored fewer than 60 points in a game all season. The Broncos lost 81-74 at home against Gonzaga.

"They outscored us, outrebounded us and outplayed us," Keating said. "They solidified their position as one of the best teams in the country."
Kansas 68, Oklahoma State 67: Naadir Tharpe connected on a short jumper in the lane with 16.5 seconds left in the second overtime, lifting No. 9 Kansas to a win over No. 14 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. Travis Releford scored 18 points and Jeff Withey had three double-overtime free throws among his 17 points for the Jayhawks (22-4, 10-4 Big 12), who are tied with No. 13 Kansas State for the conference lead with five games to go.
Syracuse 84, Providence 59: James Southerland scored 20 points, Michael Carter-Williams had 15 points and 12 assists, and the No. 8 Orange (22-4, 10-3 Big East) beat the visiting Friars (14-12, 6-8).
Arizona 70, Washington 52: Solomon Hill had 19 points, Mark Lyons added 14 and the No. 12 Wildcats (22-4, 10-4 Pac-12) pulled away after an uninspired start to beat the visiting Huskies (14-13, 6-8).
Arizona St. 69, Washington St. 57: Carrick Felix had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Jahii Carson scored 21 and the Sun Devils (20-7, 9-5 Pac-12) earned their 20th victory of the season by beating the visiting Cougars (11-16, 2-12).
