Making his Pac-12 men's diving championships debut, Kristian Ipsen won the 1-meter title Thursday in Federal Way, Wash.
Ipsen, a U.S. Olympian who didn't compete in the 2012 conference meet, had 442.15 points to beat Arizona State's Harrison Jones (437.35).
The Cardinal's Stephanie Phipps posted a comeback win in the 3-meter diving event. She was fourth in the prelims.
Freshman Elizabeth Pelton won the 200-yard individual medley -- edging defending NCAA champion and Cal teammate Caitlin Leverenz -- at the Pac-12 women's swimming and diving championships in Federal Way. The Bears were fourth with 384.5 points after seven events. Stanford was first at 491.5. Pelton was timed in 1 minute, 54.29 seconds, while senior Leverenz finished in 1:54.31.Cal's Catherine Breed placed fourth in the 500 freestyle.

The SaberCats will begin its training camp this weekend, three weeks before the season opener March 23 at San Antonio. The SaberCats will have a team meeting and undergo physicals Friday. The first practice is Saturday.
