Stanford freshman Mariah Stackhouse won the individual title and Stanford took team honors in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational women's golf tournament Tuesday at the Almaden Golf and Country Club.
Stackhouse (70-71-71) shot a 4-under-par 212. She was the only player to shoot under par in the final round.
The Cardinal (287-291-300) finished at 12-over 878, 11 strokes ahead of second-place Washington.
San Jose State's Regan De Guzman was the individual runner-up at 2-over 218. The Spartans were ninth at 920.
Cal tied for third with North Carolina State at 897. Santa Clara was 10th at 923. Cal's Michael Kim (68-65-67) finished at 16-under-par 200 to take individual honors, and the top-ranked Bears closed out a 37-shot victory over runner-up Fresno State at the Fresno State Lexus Classic. Cal freshman Josh Prenot set a Pac-12 meet record in winning the 400 individual medley in 3:41.82, and senior Tom Shields captured conference titles in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke as the Bears remained in first place at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, Wash. Cal also won evening's final event, the 400 medley relay (3:06.09).
The Bears, the defending 2011 and 2012 NCAA team champions, have 583 points through three days of competition. Stanford is second with 520 points. The meet concludes Wednesday night. Stanford (10-2) won its ninth consecutive baseball game, 6-3 against Santa Clara (6-7) at Schott Stadium.
