MONDAY'S HIGHLIGHTS

Braves 3, Nationals 2: Shortstop Andrelton Simmons hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the seventh inning as Atlanta ended a four-game losing streak. He also made an eye-popping play to open the ninth inning when he slipped and fell while fielding Ian Desmond's slow grounder but fired a strike to first from the seat of his pants. Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg developed tightness in his right forearm but said he won't miss his next start.

Marlins 4, Mets 3: Nick Green hit a winning sacrifice fly and Miami rallied for two runs in the 15th inning to hand New York its fifth consecutive loss. Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton left the game against the Mets in the 10th inning after clutching his right hamstring while running out a grounder.

Brewers 10, Pirates 4: Pitcher Yovani Gallardo hit one of five home runs for Milwaukee and also retired the final 13 batters he faced. Gallardo hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth, and Carlos Gomez and Yuniesky Betancourt repeated the feat in the fifth.

Tigers 4, Twins 3: Prince Fielder put Detroit ahead with a three-run homer in the sixth inning.

Astros 9, Yankees 1: Carlos Corporan had a home run among his four hits as Houston peppered Andy Pettitte for 10 hits and seven runs.

Indians 9, Royals 0: Ubaldo Jimenez got his first win in 13 starts dating to last season.

Dodgers: Left-hander Clayton Kershaw was placed on the bereavement list but is expected to make his next start Friday against the Giants.
